This blog is intended to motivate and inform your travels. These trips are all based on travelling rather than arriving at destinations. Obviously you’re always headed somewhere but the contemporary ‘bucket list’ approach to travel is encouraging us to think we’ve got to tick off specific “must go” destinations. The joy of travelling is much more about finding experiences and places off the beaten track. If you’ll allow me to paraphrase Robert Louis Stevenson “to travel Joyfully is better than to arrive”.
Rather than offering a full itinerary for your trips I will just whet your appetite with some tips and observations to encourage you to take your own path. Many well known places are covered here but also included are some paths that are less well-travelled. You can take parts of what I have recommended and include them in a shorter or longer trip of your own. All the trips have been taken following research of readily available travel books. I hope you may get some inspiration from my trips to set about planning your own
The blog covers trips in North and South America, Europe and Asia.
Happy travelling.
